Priscilla Meckel, L.Ac.
Priscilla Meckel grew up in New Mexico at the foothills of the Sandia Mountains with her mother and 4 siblings. In a family that could never afford conventional western medical treatment her mother became very knowledgeable in alternative forms of healing. This exposure planted the seed for Priscilla’s interest and passion for complementary alternative medicine as an adult. For the past 10 years she has dedicated her time to learning and practicing various modalities of Asian healing arts starting with massage therapy and then in 2006 graduated from the Academy of Chinese Culture and Heath Science with a master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Priscilla has increased her skills by working closely with pain management specialists. She is dedicated to providing affordable health care to her community. She worked for several years as a Case Manager/Acupuncturist at the Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic providing no cost health care to low income women with cancer. After that she worked at the Health and Environmental Resource Center providing free acupuncture to the people who live and work in Bay View Hunters Point in San Francisco. And now you can find Priscilla at BAP on Friday evenings.
